ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Maulana Hamidul Haq, son of assassinated Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq on Monday claimed that his father’s assassination might have planned in Afghanistan.

As per the details, Maulana Samiul Haq’s brother Maulana Anwarul Haq has been appointed chancellor of Darul Uloom Haqqania while his son Maulana Hamidul Haq has been given responsibilities of vice chancellor.

Later, addressing a press conference, Maulana Hamidul Haq said that they have an idea about the elements behind his father’s assassination, adding that assassination might have been planned in Afghanistan.

He also announced to hold protest demonstration against his father’s assassination on Friday.

The Rusm-e-Qul of Maulana Samiul Haq was also offered at the Darul Uloom Haqqania, while various political and religious party leaders have also visited the maddrassa for condolences.

On October, 2, Religious scholar and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq was assassinated in a targeted attack in Rawalpindi on Friday.

Haq sustained injutries in a targeted attack at his house in a private housing society in Rawalpindi’s Gulraiz area. He was shifted to local hospital for medical assistance where he succumbed to his wounds.

Haq’s son Maulana Hamidul Haq confirmed his death in the attack.
